The mountain bike trails in Schoorl and Groet together form a modern and challenging trail network in the Schoorlse Duinen. Many mountain bike enthusiasts consider this area to be one of the most beautiful and varied MTB destinations in the Netherlands. The three separate routes connect well with each other, so they can be ridden individually or combined into longer rides. Along the way, riders encounter a varied course full of technical features, such as steep climbs and descents, tight switchbacks, small drops and step-ups, wooden boardwalks, and natural obstacles like tree roots, loose sand and narrow forest trails. This variety is exactly what makes mountain biking in Schoorl and Groet so appealing to sporty riders.
The South Route has a MODERATE ◼︎ difficulty level. It is 8 km long and suitable for beginner mountain bikers, while still offering enough challenge for intermediate riders.
The Middle Route and North Route are classified as DIFFICULT ▲ and are 9 km and 7 km long respectively. These routes are technically demanding and require good fitness and solid riding skills.
They are therefore not suitable for beginner or intermediate mountain bikers.
However, the reward is riding through a beautiful dune landscape with a unique combination of forest, elevation changes and challenging singletracks.
